Fred De Palma, pseudonym of Federico Palana, was born in Ceva, in the province of Cuneo, in November 1989. His life has not been easy, as he revealed in many interviews. From a young age, he started using drugs, a common practice in his hometown. However, the situation got worse over time, and he even risked death. In fact, he almost died twice and lost one of his best friends due to drugs.
After this event, he realized he needed to change his life and started writing. He entered the world of rap and discovered that his verses could be transformed into songs. He began participating in the most important freestyle contests in Turin and Milan, which allowed him to connect with prominent names in the Italian music scene, such as Dirty C, with whom he formed the group Royal Rhyme.
In 2011, the group released their first album, titled “Royal Rhyme.” Later, in 2012, they released the EP “God Save the Royal.” Meanwhile, Fred De Palma continued to distinguish himself in freestyle contests, achieving significant success. In 2011, he won the Zelig Urban Talent, gaining television visibility. He also participated in the program MTV Spit, focused on freestyle battles, where he ranked third.
In 2012, Fred De Palma left the group to pursue a solo career. He released his album “F.D.P.” and joined Roccia Music, an independent label founded by Marracash and Shablo. With this label, he released “Lettera al successo.” However, their collaboration did not last long, as in 2014, the singer announced his departure. The following year, he signed a contract with Warner Music Italy.
He debuted with his third album titled “BoyFred,” approaching his current style. His fourth album, “Hanglover,” was released in 2017, followed by the albums “Uebe” and “Unico.” In recent years, he has also collaborated with Spanish singer Ana Mena and Brazilian artist Anitta. His latest released songs are “Adrenalina” and “Melodia Criminal,” both from 2023.
